Custom apparel involves more than simply placing a logo on a garment. Artwork must be prepared for the selected decoration method, placement must work with the garment, and some designs require additional production preparation.
This policy explains how artwork setup, embroidery, printing, decoration locations, proofs, and related charges work when ordering custom apparel from Custom 2 Wear.

Standard Artwork Setup
A $35 Standard Artwork Setup fee applies to custom orders containing fewer than 12 total items.
Standard artwork setup covers normal production preparation of customer-supplied artwork. Depending on the decoration method, this may include preparing a file for printing or converting artwork into an embroidery-ready format.
Free Standard Artwork Setup at 12+ Items
When your cart reaches 12 or more total items, the Standard Artwork Setup fee is automatically waived.
The 12 pieces do not have to be the same size or garment style. Multiple qualifying apparel styles within the same order may count toward the 12-piece artwork setup threshold.
The free setup threshold applies to standard artwork preparation. Complex, oversized, unusually detailed, high-stitch-count, or otherwise production-intensive designs may require additional preparation or production charges.
Previously Approved Artwork on File
If Custom 2 Wear has previously prepared and approved your logo or artwork, choose Use Approved Artwork Already on File when that option appears on the product page.
You may be asked to enter a previous Custom 2 Wear order number, artwork name, or another reference that helps us locate the correct production file.
If you are ordering fewer than 12 pieces and we already have approved production-ready artwork on file, contact Custom 2 Wear before placing your order so we can verify the artwork and provide the appropriate setup-waiver instructions.
Submitting a different logo, substantially revised artwork, or artwork requiring new production preparation may be treated as new artwork.
Uploading New Artwork
When ordering with new artwork, upload the highest-quality version of your logo or design available.
Preferred artwork formats include:
- AI
- EPS
- SVG
- High-resolution transparent PNG
- PSD
- High-resolution JPEG when no better file is available
Vector artwork is preferred whenever possible because it can generally be resized without losing quality.
For embroidery orders, you do not need to provide an embroidery machine file. Suitable artwork can be prepared for embroidery as part of the artwork setup process.

Artwork Rights and Permissions
By submitting artwork, a logo, trademark, photograph, text, design, or other content to Custom 2 Wear, you confirm that you own the material or have permission to reproduce it.
The customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary copyright, trademark, licensing, or other permissions for submitted artwork.
Custom 2 Wear reserves the right to decline artwork that we reasonably believe cannot legally or appropriately be reproduced.
What Decoration Is Included?
Each product page identifies the standard decoration method included in the displayed starting price.
Depending on the garment, the included method may be Standard Full-Color Print or Standard Embroidery.
Products that offer more than one decoration method will display any applicable price difference before the item is added to the cart.
Available decoration methods and locations vary by garment. Not every fabric, panel, seam, pocket, zipper, reflective area, or garment construction is suitable for every decoration technique.
Standard Embroidery
Where embroidery is listed as the included decoration method, the product price includes one standard embroidery location unless otherwise stated on the product page.
Depending on the garment, available embroidery locations may include Left Chest, Right Chest, Left Sleeve, Right Sleeve, Center Front, Left Front, Right Front, Left Side, Right Side, or Center Back.
The actual locations available for a particular garment are shown directly on that product’s ordering page.
Additional Embroidery Locations
Where offered, an additional standard embroidery location is:
+$6 per item
The additional location is applied in addition to the primary embroidery location selected for the garment.
Complex, Oversized or High-Detail Embroidery
Standard embroidery is included in the pricing shown where indicated.
Complex, oversized, high-stitch-count, highly detailed, or otherwise production-intensive designs may require additional digitizing, setup, or production charges.
Standard Full-Color Printing
Where Standard Full-Color Print is listed as the included decoration method, one standard print location is included in the displayed product price.
Depending on the garment, available print locations may include:
- Left Chest
- Full Front
- Full Back
- Left Sleeve
- Right Sleeve
- Garment-specific print locations where applicable
Not every location is available on every garment. The ordering options shown on the product page determine the standard locations available for that item.
Additional Print Locations
Where additional print locations are available, standard pricing is:
Small additional print location: +$3 per item
Examples may include a chest or sleeve location.
Full Front or Full Back additional print location: +$5 per item
The exact available locations and charges are displayed on the product page before the item is added to your cart.
Garment-Specific Decoration Restrictions
Some garments require more controlled decoration placement because of their fabric, construction, pockets, seams, zippers, mesh panels, reflective material, or other functional components.
When ordering these products, the decoration locations shown on the product page represent the areas we normally consider suitable for that particular garment.
Safety Apparel and Reflective Garments
Safety and high-visibility apparel may contain reflective tape or other functional components that restrict normal decoration areas.
Available print locations may include areas such as Left Chest, Full Back, Lower Front Left, Lower Front Right, or Lower Back below the reflective tape when the garment construction allows it.
Custom 2 Wear will not intentionally place decoration over reflective tape or other functional garment components unless the specific product and decoration method have been determined to be suitable.
If submitted artwork must be resized or repositioned to fit the selected decoration area, we will contact you before production when the adjustment materially changes the expected appearance.
Artwork Proofs and Approval
Custom 2 Wear may provide an electronic artwork or placement proof before production.
The proof is intended to help confirm:
- Artwork or logo selection
- General placement
- Orientation
- Spelling
- Layout
Please review your proof carefully before approving it.
Once a proof has been approved for production, the customer is responsible for artwork, spelling, layout, and placement decisions shown in the approved proof.
Electronic proofs are visual representations. Thread colors, printed colors, embroidery texture, garment texture, and exact scale may appear somewhat different on a physical decorated garment than they appear on a computer or phone screen.
Production Adjustments to Artwork
Minor production adjustments may occasionally be necessary to produce a better finished garment.
Examples may include slightly resizing artwork to fit an embroidery field, adjusting extremely thin lines, simplifying details that are too small to embroider cleanly, or adjusting placement around seams, pockets, zippers, or reflective material.
If an adjustment materially changes the appearance of the approved design, we will contact you before proceeding.
Multiple Logos, Designs or Personalization
Standard artwork setup is intended for normal orders using a standard logo or design.
Orders involving multiple unique logos, extensive personalization, complex artwork preparation, oversized decoration, unusually high stitch counts, or multiple production setups may require additional charges.
These situations are reviewed individually.

Production Time
Our normal production target is 6–10 business days.
Production timing generally begins after the order, required artwork, and any necessary artwork approval are complete.
Complex orders, unusually large orders, special-order garments, artwork revisions, product availability, or other production requirements may affect turnaround time.
If you have a firm event or delivery deadline, please contact us before placing your order so we can confirm availability and production timing.
Custom Orders and Returns
Decorated products are made specifically for the customer and generally cannot be returned or exchanged because of incorrect sizing, change of mind, or artwork decisions approved by the customer.
Products that arrive damaged, defective, or with a clear production error are handled according to our Return Policy.
Please review product sizing, garment colors, decoration choices, artwork, spelling, and any supplied proof carefully before approving your order for production.

How much is artwork setup?

For orders under 12 pieces, contact us if the setup fee appears so we can verify your existing artwork before you order.
Do I need to provide an embroidery machine file?
No. Send us the best-quality version of your logo or artwork available. We can prepare suitable artwork for embroidery as part of the artwork setup process.
How much is a second embroidery location?
Where available, an additional standard embroidery location is $6 per item.
How much is an additional printed location?
Where available, small additional print locations are generally $3 per item. Additional Full Front or Full Back print locations are generally $5 per item.
Can every garment be printed or embroidered in every location?
No. Available decoration methods and locations depend on the garment’s fabric, construction, seams, pockets, zippers, reflective material, usable decoration area, and other physical characteristics. The options displayed on each product page represent the normal self-service decoration choices available for that garment.
What if my embroidery design is unusually large or detailed?
Complex, oversized, high-stitch-count, or highly detailed embroidery may require additional digitizing, setup, or production charges. If additional charges are necessary, Custom 2 Wear will contact you for approval before production.
What happens after I submit my artwork?
We review the artwork for the selected garment and decoration method. When an artwork or placement proof is required, you will have an opportunity to review it before production. Production generally begins after the order, artwork requirements, and necessary approvals are complete.
